Archaeology of the Web

web.archive.org - Archaeology of the Web For me it is a real find, it is a web archive at http://web.archive.org/ on your server that keeps websites from 1996 onwards. With a simple request of visitors, indicating the url, is able to display the website in a given year or period of time.

In the case of flashmotus.it I found the first version of the site dating back to April 2003 (pity that the system has not kept its swf files) and other up to date. Note that the 2006 filings take place every even To monthly.
The first version of google.com? It dates back to December 1998 in beta, but where this is already the unmistakable logo ( http://web.archive.org/web/19981202230410/http://www.google.com/ ). And you, archaeologists fans of the web, you have found interesting findings?

Very cute as a service. It 'a lot of fun to go see the pages of the websites of 8 or 9 years ago ... you really understand how the web has evolved in this period.
