Super crunchers and search engines
Today I read a post that is worth reporting on George Blown marketingarena.it in which he recounts his speech on the search engines in a college course in e-business. The post is also available and downloadable slides in a presentation entitled: "History, geography and evolution of search engine marketing."
I thoroughly enjoyed some hints on future scenarios of George of the Web, on the future of search engines, the SEO and SEM and means more and more they are based on scientific analysis and forecasting. It quoted a text very essential to understand the importance of statistics applied to the web: Super Crunchers Ian Ayres, Sperling & Kupfer.
Ian Ayres argues that statistics dominate the lives of more more people and with the analysis of the most popular websites visited, and it is possible to infer the preferences, desires and hidden secrets most men and women of all countries.
Studying the more websites' use, such as Google and Amazon, a class of 'makers', Super Crunchers, studying consumer choice by establishing guidelines and preferences of the future. Each professional is hit by mathematical models, based on the analysis of numbers and trends, to identify how the costumes evolve, choices and possibilities.
Everything is born, however, the study of the network. 'Today - in fact, the author explains - people seek the advice obtained from the Internet massified behavior. Some of these search engines on the preferences of the public are simply lists of Either what you enjoy more popularity '.
How, for example, to judge a player without ever having seen moving on the court? How to know if the price will rise or fall a plane ticket before you buy it?
According to Ayres only 'macinanumeri' are able to provide answers to these questions, like so many other issues 'haunt' the modern man. One thing is certain. Is run out of time in which to make a decision, it was possible to rely mainly intuition.

Of course, I agree with the assumption! Intuition is not enough, but it always helps:).
